-
- INTRODUCTION: LanChek is a Novell(tm) 3.n compatible utility, designed for
- LAN administrators, which (1) lists the status of attached LANs (from
- 1 to 105), (2) rings an alarm when there is any change of status (a LAN
- connection lost or regained), (3) lists users on the local LAN (when
- logged in), (3) provides a log of all LanChek activities, (4) allows
- configuration changes at any time, and (5) can be run without actually
- logging on. LanChek requires no LAN memory or other LAN resources.
-
- NOTE: This is a beta version of LanChek. Suggestions for improvements and
- reports of problems are greatly appreciated. Our goal is a stable,
- flexible, "basic" LAN/WAN utility available for a very low price.
-
- REGISTRATION AND WARRANTY: LanChek is marketed as shareware, which means you
- can use it for up to one month (30 calendar days), after which you must
- register it or delete it. Registration provides a number of additional
- benefits, and removes some nasty pauses and sounds from the unregistered
- version. There is NO warranty for LanChek: you use this file entirely at
- your own risk. For an incredibly little sum, you can save countless hours
- of LAN management time!
-
- INCLUDED FILES: LANCHEK.EXE The executable file
- LANCHEK.DOC This documentation
- [LANCHEK.KEY] Registration file: registering LanChek
- will provide this file
- LANCHEK.PRB LanChek problems form: fill out if any

-
- HOW TO USE LANCHEK: Create a directory for LanChek, and copy all LanChek
- files to it. Log in to local LAN (recommend but not required). Run LanChek.
- That's it!
-
- MISC. The current version of LanChek has been run on Novell(tm) versions
- 3.11 and 3.12; it may well work on other versions as well.
-
- SUPPORT: You are entitled to support, even for UNregistered LanChek. Call
- Suncoast City BBS at 941-953-5505 (1200-28,800 baud), and leave a message
- to "Sysop". We check for messages every evening. Also, please use the
- enclosed LANCHEK.PRB form to report any consistent problems.
